The Ward administrator is responsible for General admin functions and
all stock control duties at the ward/unit level. The incumbent is the
link between the Pharmacy and ward/Unit with a dual reporting line to
the Pharmacy and Unit Manager. The incumbent will communicate with
both the Pharmacy Manager and Unit Manager ensuring that both parties
are well-informed and in agreement to all aspects pertaining to the
role.
The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost-effective, safe
quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and
policies. The objective of this position is to act as a clinical
resource and leader in this speciality, performing functions at an
advanced level of competence and consistency. Sound and contemporary
knowledge of the area of speciality, together with an advanced
understanding of professional nursing, health care delivery and
programme planning, will allow the incumbent to fulfil his/her primary
responsibilities and promote quality patient care.
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing
care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the
direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit
Manager.
The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary is responsible for direct and/or indirect
nursing care of a patient or group of patients and functions under the
direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse in
accordance with hospital standards and policies. As a Professional
Practitioner, the incumbent also is responsible for and is held
accountable for his/her own acts and omissions. The Enrolled Nurse
Auxiliary will be responsible for the assessment and care of the needs
of patients and will be responsible for the development,
implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs of care,
ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients’/report
potential/ actual risks identified, ensure all stock is well
controlled and managed.

evidence-based care and will actively participate in clinical
governance, auditing of health records to ensure compliance, ensuring
all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited
appropriately, effective risk prevention and management, manage acuity
and skill mix to ensure appropriate level of care.
The role of the catering manager (C.M.) is to manage all the catering
services of the clinic/hospital to the satisfaction of patients and
staff. The C.M. must have a background in business administration and
food service systems. Specific areas of business administration that
are essential include:
* organization
* financial and internal controls
* cost accounting
* budgeting
* production management
* economics
* labour relations
* personal administration
* marketing and legal responsibilities.
With regards to food service system, the C.M. should have an in-depth
knowledge of food and nutrition science, social cultural aspects of
food, and volume food production.
The Stores Clerk will be responsible for accepting, inspecting,
stocking, and transferring deliveries. The position involves a close
attention to detail, the ability to use inventory software, and strong
organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Receiving deliveries in line with the policies & procedures
* Assisting with off-loading shipments from delivery truck
* Opening boxes and inspecting contents of shipments
* Processing returns of defective or incorrect items
* Checking shipping invoice to ensure all items are accounted for
* Contacting the seller or distributor to resolve shipment
discrepancies
* Storing, Restocking, and Shelving delivery items as necessary
* Ensuring that stockroom is clean and organized
* Processing transfers for shipments moving on to another location
* Informing Finance Clerks to pay balance on invoices upon receipt
of full delivery
* Maintaining records of all received shipments
* Handling discrepancies or shipping problems calmly and politely.
* Capacity to plan, organise and control own work environment by
setting appropriate priorities and achieving set objectives within a
given time frame
* Ensure processes are in line with the working procedures and
policies of BMPH
The incumbent will be responsible for the provision of medication and
supplementary services to patients and other stakeholders. The Senior
Pharmacist will also assume responsibility for meeting patients’
needs in a responsible, satisfactory, and cost-effective manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Dispensing of all prescriptions for in and outpatients
* Evaluating prescriptions for appropriate dosages and treatment and
control of ward stocks
* Supply and control of Schedule 5 and 6 drugs
* Supply Provision of drug information service
* Checking and controlling expiry dates of medication in stock
* Supervise the removal and or destruction of expired ethical stock
* Assist with all aspects of ethical stock including cyclical counts
and full stock take process
* Assist in the ethical stock ordering
* Maintaining an effective relationship with key role players
* Supervising the control and dispensing of medication by Pharmacist
Assistants in compliance with legal requirements
* Provision of in-service training to nursing staff
* Daily Ward Rounds to support the AMS Programme
* Active Participation in the AMS Programme
* Active participation and recording of CPD activities on the SAPC
website
* Related house-keeping tasks
* All duties assigned by management from time to time
* Leading on clinical committees e.g. AMS
* Managing stock related activities, generic substitution, difficult
doctors
* Preparation of month end reports
* Management of staff i.e.: Kronos, training development, coaching,
tutor for the SAPC course, completing month end reports
