The Case Manager will be responsible for the liaison between the
patient and medical aids to
secure payment for the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Ensure all the relevant details on Hospital Billing System are
updated and are accurate.
* Supply all details regarding patients’ history to Clinical
partners.
* Monitor and control costs for Managed Care Organisation patients.
* Confirm length of stay for all Managed Care Organisations
patients.
* Accompany Managed Care Organisation Case Managers on ward rounds
in the hospital.
* Assist with final authorisation of Managed Care patient files.
* Ensure correct coding for all Managed Care Organisation patients.
* Consult with the relevant service providers regarding the patient
care treatment.
* Assist with the transfer of patients to Rehab Hospital or
step-down facilities.
* Liaise network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure
that managed care of patients is maintained.
* Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and
maintain good working
relationships that are mutually beneficial.
The incumbent responsibilities will include but not limited to
adhering to patients needs in an effective,
satisfactory and responsible manner. The applicant will also be
ultimately responsible for the provision of
medication and supplementary services to patients and other
stakeholders.
The Chef is responsible for the preparation plan, prepare, and cook
meals according to menu requirements and quality standards. The Chef
will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the
kitchen with the chef/cook on duty.
Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is recruiting a registered nurse for
the medical ward to provide
nursing care under the direct and indirect supervision of the unit
manager, and within the scope of
practice for a registered nurse.
* Be able to work harmoniously as a team member ensuring allocated
tasks are completed effectively
* Provide comprehensive quality nursing care to patients, based on
individualised patient needs
* Ensuring that the medical ward team functions within the
guidelines of Infection Prevention Standards
* Providing a safe patient area through effective and correct
management of waste
* Sound knowledge of costs and cost containment including economic
use of stock and accurate charging of all items
* Maintain effective relationships with all internal and external
customers, and ensure all actions promote customer service excellence
* Assist in the effective management of staffing cost through

to personal time and attendance
* Ensure clinical processes are in line with the policies and

* Serve as a clinical resource person to all members of the
multidisciplinary team, act as a role model by precept and example and
be willing to teach
The Clinical technologist will be responsible for preparation and care
of medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, ECMO, IABP,
infusion devices and advanced airway equipment etc. Ensuring that all
monitoring,ventilatory and infusion devices are in working order, and
timeously serviced.
The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe
quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and
policies. The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and/or
indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for
assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of
care to meet patient needs, is a role model in the delivery of
evidence-based care and will actively participate in Clinical
Governance.
The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Quality Nursing
Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The
incumbent will be accountable for coordinating training, development
and mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will be expected to
apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by
focusing on the integration of people, technology and financial
drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Manage Acuities and Skill Mix in such a way as to ensure cost
effective Quality Care
* Monitor and Control Staff Attendance and/or Absenteeism and ensure
action istaken accordingly
* Manage, advise and influence the delivery of cost-effective
quality nursing care whilst enhancing the Patient Journey through
monitoring and intervention
* Ensure correct Billing, Stock Management and
Ordering/replenishment
* Facilitate timeous and accurate compilation of files
* Adherence to Clinical Governance and other Busamed audits and
quality initiatives and any other duties assigned by Management
* Conduct active patient surveillance for Infection Prevention &
Control (IPC) liaising with nursing staff and doctors
* Ensure the principles of Infection Prevention and Control and
standard precautions are adhered to
* Implement an IPC programme tailored to the needs of the Unit and
in alignment with hospital IPC strategy
* Monitor IPC compliance and identify areas of non-compliance
through clinical audits, remedial action to be implemented and
assessed for effectiveness
* Investigate all negative Infection Prevention & Control incidents
/ Adverse events and ensure appropriate recording and intervention
* Maintain and update hospital’s Incident Management System
(Barnowl): incident reporting, initiation and closure of Action Plans
and regular review of department’s Risk Register and mitigation of
risk
* Ensure compliance with Protocols, Policies and Acts
* Evaluate Nursing Quality Indicators and Clinical Outcomes
* Identify Quality Improvement opportunities and ensure appropriate
strategy and Quality Improvement initiatives are developed and
measured
* Ensure a safe working environment is maintained in accordance with
the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act
* Maintenance of Asset Register and contents (including all
equipment and ward environment), ensuring service schedule is met,
repairs signed off and maintenance schedule facilitated
* Ensure adherence to requirements of POPI Act and Patient
Confidentiality
* Communicate effectively with patients, families and parents
regarding the patient’s care
* Participate in hospital-cover (weekend call etc); rotational cover
of Night Manager absence and scheduled time to work with and meet
staff on Night Duty
* Facilitate a culture that is supportive of talent management and
the initiation of required implementations to hone nursing talent
* Facilitate personal and professional staff development through an
active coaching and mentoring programme aligned to the yearly
Performance Development Programme (PDP)

ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients/report
potential/ actual risks identified, ensure all stock is well
controlled and managed.
