The Registered Nurse willrender and promote cost effective, safe
quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and
policies. As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent also is
responsible for and is held accountable for his/her own acts and
omissions. The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and/or
indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for
assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of
care to meet patient needs. Is a role model in the delivery of
evidence-based care and will actively participate in clinical
governance, auditing of health records to ensure compliance, ensure
allstock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited
appropriately, effective risk prevention and management, manage acuity
and skill mix to ensure appropriate level of care.

The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect

The incumbent will be responsible for management and maintenance of
medical equipment technology and all associated facets within the
hospital. The critical outputs will include, but not limited to:
* Establish and maintain an accurate computerised asset management
system as per Hospital Engineering protocols
* Generate and manage medical equipment replacement plan for all
medical equipment for the hospital
* Perform first line repairs, modifications and installations on
equipment, utilising the necessary test equipment, in accordance with
the standards and recommendations of original equipment manufacturers
(OEM) and/or governing agencies
* Perform preventive maintenance inspections of equipment in line
with Hospital engineering and OEM protocols
* Coordinate the selection and acquisition of medical equipment
technology that is fit for purpose and application, and up-to-date
with current developments and best practices in the healthcare field,
* Communicate and negotiate with vendors to purchase the most
cost-effective equipment at the highest quality as per Hospital
engineering and procurement protocols
* Coordinate the ‘Supply chain management’ of medical equipment
for all growth/new projects as per Hospital protocols
* Monitor and report on equipment failure trends and life cycle
costs
* Ensures risks are controlled by reporting incidents and potential
risks and corrective action taken
* Ensure safe working procedures and technical documents are adhered
to
* Manage Equipment SLAs at hospital level and ensure outputs are met
* Perform formal operators training and monitor competency
compliance by arranging training with vendors for hospital nursing
staff and equipment end-users
The CSSD Assistant is responsible for the execution of procedures and
tasks to clean, prepare, pack and sterilize unsterile instruments,
linen and consumables and to supply sterile requirements to Theatre
and other Departments in the hospital.
The Administration Supervisor is responsible for the overall
management of the Administration area. They will also be responsible
for ensuring admissions and discharge of patients is done in a
professional, friendly and timeous manner as well as creating and
maintaining a goodwill with doctors and liaison with nursing staff
regarding bed bookings.
* Ensure staff admit patients in a professional, orderly manner and
appropriate information is recorded
* Ensure staff collect deposits and surcharges where applicable
* Liaise with doctors and related departments regarding Theatre List
and diagnosis and fast track all booked cases
* Liaise with nursing staff regarding bed bookings through Doctors
PA
* Ensure confirmations is obtained regularly
* Have a thorough understanding of medical aid contract
* Handle front desk complaints from patients and doctors
* Identify and report on the gaps analysed during the admission
process
* All relevant COID documentation to be collected on admission and
uploaded onto Microsoft Teams
* Ensure staff discharge patients in a professional, orderly manner
* Ensure staff collect outstanding monies due by private patients
and co-payments for medical aid or insurer patients where applicable
and assist in registrations of newborn
* Oversee and streamline telephone etiquette
* Ensure time attendance of all admission is maintained
* Ensure adequate turn-around times are maintained
* Ensure Busamed values are upheld always
* Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
* Have knowledge of medical aid rules, COID/WCA and govt gazette
