Occupational Health/Primary Health Care

Busamed is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive primary health care and occupational health services. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting workplace wellness. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide primary health care services, including screening, diagnosis and treatment
• Conduct occupational health assessments, including pre-employment, periodic, and exit medicals
• Administer vaccinations, health education and wellness programs
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote employee well-being
• Respond to workplace injuries and emergencies
• Provide guidance on workplace ergonomics and risk prevention

Educational requirements:

• Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution
• Additional certification in Occupational Health Nursing (Preferred)

Professional requirements:

• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a registered Nurse
• Knowledge of occupational health regulations and workplace wellness programs

• 1-3 years of experience in primary health care and/or occupational health nursing

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and witing a team
• Ability to conduct occupational health screenings and medical evaluations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and workplace health promotion
• Computer literacy for medical record- keeping and reporting
