The Mechanical Artisan will be responsible for ensuring daily line inspections and give feedback to the Technical Team. The Artisan must also act on timeously to breakdowns as well as do maintenance on systems.
Matric or related NQF Level 4 qualification
Electrical/Mechanical Artisan Qualification
Electrical/Mechanical Trade Test at NQF 4
NQF Level 5 Engineering Qualification or Higher
Candidate should have a reliable transport system
Ability to travel independently due to 24hr functionality of the hospital environment
Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business hours
Will interact with internal and external customers through several different means
3 years experience in a Mechanical Artisan role.
3 years post qualification experience in a mechanical environment, including but limited to airconditioning, welding, fitting, and turning and boilers/geysers
Experience in working on air-conditioning air compressors, autoclaves, and medical gas systems
Computer literacy
Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Working Standby/ Shift working
Responsibility for mechanical related systems of the hospital
Carry out repairs
Monitoring and carrying out quality control Monitoring and quality control of all contractor work carried out on hospital equipment for refrigeration, air-conditioning, vacuum, medical gas, autoclave, boiler, hot and cold-water systems
Ensure that spares used are recorded to ensure there is an effective accountability for goods used
Comply with industry standards and safety regulations of working
Perform fault finding and ensure that all equipment is operational
Knowledge of the R158 building regulations, specifically with regards to hospitals, theatres, and industrial kitchens
Occupational Health and Safety Act’s regulations relating to machinery
