Maintenance

The incumbent will be responsible for the management of risks related to hospital infrastructure and assets related to all plants and equipment. This includes but is not limited to:

  • To establish and implement training processes and strategies for all technical personnel
  • Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled project and maintenance
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring efficient and quality service delivery
  • Hold regular team meetings to determine progress and address any challenges
  • Research and evaluate hardware and software options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis before procuring services and products on behalf of the business
  • Ensure proper maintenance and installation takes place
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and implement systems to ensure compliance
  • To oversee the technical team, manage, improve and optimize the technical operations within the facility
  • Drive and monitor conformance to SLA, identify gaps and implement corrective action
  • Identify, together with Group Procurement, applicable services and service providers
  • Effective quality systems management

  • Grade 12 or Qualification Equivalent to NQF Level 4
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • National Trade Certification

  • 3-4 years work experience in similar or same position
  • Relevant hospital experience will be a recommendation
  • Experience in building maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations
  • Intermediate computer skills 
  • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
  • Customer service orientated with high working standards
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to function independently with minimum supervision
  • Computer Literacy essential
  • Fluent communication in English essential.
  • SAP knowledge will be advantageous
  • Ability to carry out basic electrical fault finding.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations specifically OHS Act 85 of 1993 General Machinery Regulations.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service orientated with high working standards.
