Busamed Bram Fischer Hospital is looking for a Pharmacy Stores Clerk responsible for effective management of stock and ensuring accurate processing and control of surgical products between Wards and Pharmacy, in accordance with policies and procedures as determined by management and audit requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Receiving and unpacking and storage of pharmacy stock
Assist and manage stock distribution to the units through auto transfers
Assist with cycle counts and stock takes in Pharmacy and in the Wards
Assist with ordering of stock according to formulary
Credit stock according to the correct process
Maintain item codes for the Wards and Pharmacy
Effective utilisation of reports to manage stock
Management of dead stock in Pharmacy and Wards
Packing of stock neatly onto shelves according to a system, considering FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out) principles
Monitor short-dated stock in the wards, pharmacy, theatre and stores
Identify monitor and remove expired and damaged stock in the Wards, Pharmacy, and Theatre
Ordering of stock when requested
Identify, advertise excess and slow-moving stock advertise and sell excess and slow-moving stock in the wards, pharmacy, and theatre
Capturing of supplier invoices and follow up on outstanding invoices and credit notes from suppliers
Investigate and resolve open purchase orders, back orders and inventory discrepancies
Investigate and clear negative stock in the plant
Report and verify incorrect billing and non-billing
Monitor critical / high value stock
Perform hospital stores duties and general housekeeping in all storage locations
Assist in the communication of inventory policies internally within the ward
Handle all routine administration queries and work requests and resolve these efficiently and effectively within the required turnaround times
Establish and maintain good relationships with nursing and other functions in the hospital
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
Tertiary qualification essential
Previous experience in a private hospital surgical stores and knowledge of surgical products would be an advantage
Computer literate – must be accurate and pay attention to details
Knowledge and experience of SAP would be an advantage
Good organisational and administration skills
