Hospital Stock Controller

Pharmacy

The Hospital Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining stock levels and stock control in the hospital, Pharmacy and Wards. The Hospital Stock controller will also be responsible for stock in all storage locations overseeing Theatre, wards and Pharmacy. This position will be responsible for all stock matters at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital.

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
• Intermediate computer literacy
• SAP system Essential
• Knowledge and experience of a pharmaceutical stock control system

• Three or more years of experience in a private Hospital
• SAP experience Essential
• Previous experience in stock management 
• Previous Management experience will be advantageous

• Manage back orders and ordering of Pharmacy stock
• Check stock received by the Pharmacy and ensured all due process are followed
• Measure and evaluate stock activity levels for stock and re-ordering purposes
• Maintain stock at agreed value targets (stock days)
• Manage expiry date checks regularly and ensure the timeous return to suppliers and/or write off stock
• Control of consumable cost of wards and theatres
• Implement and control systems for stock control in the Pharmacy, theatre and wards
• Generate report for wards and ensure replenishments are done and sent to wards/theatres
• In charge of cycle counts and stock take 
• Train UM’s and ward PAs on stock related matters
• Understanding of Profit margins and identifying opportunities for growth
• Carrying out pharmacy formulary conversions as per Group Pharmacy
• Understanding of ward systems and process development to maximize stock control efficiencies
