Patient Services

The incumbent will be responsible for answering telephones, scheduling and registering patients, entering charges, managing work queues, posting payments, batch balancing, reconciling and balancing cash, obtaining patient authorisation numbers, confirming co-payment with medical aids, and liaising with the relevant parties when admitting private patients. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for assessing patient files for accurate accounting with Scale of Benefits and ARS Contracts as well as assisting the Quality Review department.

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
  • Tertiary Qualification advantageous

  • Previous reception and billing experience is essential
  • Working experience in private healthcare or the healthcare funding industry will be advantageous
  • Working experience on SAP will be advantageous

  • Knowledge of medical aid admitting protocol would be advantageous
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) is essential
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to function effectively independently
  • Fluent communication in English is essential
