Mental Health and Wellness Unit

The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost-effective, safe, quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent is also responsible for and is held accountable for his/her acts and omissions.


The incumbent will also be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients or groups of patients, as well as assessing, planning, executing, and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.


Is a role model in the delivery of evidence-based care and will actively participate in clinical governance, auditing of health records to ensure compliance, ensuring all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately, effective risk prevention and management, managing acuity and skill mix to ensure an appropriate level of care.

  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife
  • Relevant qualifications within a specialist area will be advantageous
  • Comply with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable healthcare legislation

  • + 1 - 5 Years of working experience in the same position
  • Working experience in private healthcare or the healthcare funding industry will be advantageous
  • Mental Health experience is essential

  • Computer Literacy is essential
  • Fluent communication in English is essential
  • Nursing standards
  • Must understand confidentiality issues and the use of discretion
  • Full understanding of the Mental Health Care Act, No. 17 of 2002 and the Regulations
  • Capacity to implement and maintain health practice standards required by all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
