The supervisor is responsible for daily operations, ensuring staff perform their duties correctly and according to company standards. They also manage staff performance, enforce rules and report incidents to management.

  • Certificate / Diploma Administrator qualifications
  • Grade 12

  • Supervise daily food preparation and service
  • Ensure meals are served on time and according to standards
  • Conduct on-the-job training and coaching
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, health, and safety standard
  • Basic administration and reporting skills
  • Monitor stock levels and prevent waste
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and stock counts

  • To collect all items for production at the commencement of each shift.
  • Ensuring that the ovens, flattops, fridges and other kitchen equipment is working sufficiently.
  • Ensuring that dishes are washed by the cleaner on duty and ready before each shift.
  • Understanding the menu and communicating Orders and stock to the supervisor or Manager on duty.
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of meals to the correctstandards.
  • To timeously portion and prepare stock in order for efficient operation.
  • To ensure that the food quality is of high standard – taste, color, consistency, texture, flavor etc.
  • Responsible for making sure kitchen is cleared and clean before closing.
  • To assist the cooks whenever possible or necessary to build them up and train them.
  • To assist with the organizing, planning and preparation of snacks and meals for special functions and meetings that may take place in house in the Hospital.
  • To ensure that hygiene standards are always maintained, including personal hygiene and general kitchen hygiene.
  • Following daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Following weekly and monthly maintenance inspection routines.
  • To assist with on job training to Chefs/cooks so that all staff are motivated to improve on performance.
  • Reporting any faults or defects to the supervisor on duty, paying particular attention to safety and health hazards.
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
